EDWARD WAS ON LEAVE FROM NAVY DURING WWII. HE SERVED IN THE PHILIPPINES. I HAD TWO BROTHERS (EDWARD AND GENT) IN THE NAVY SO, IT WAS ONLY FITTING THAT I SUPPORT THE CAUSE. WE LIVED IN HOUSTON DURING THE WAR. OUR DAD WORKED AT THE SHIPYARD .

Sue and Jean This was taken while mother was giving Birth to Bobbie. Sue was in Houston at this time.

an early age. Not sure where this was taken maybe south of Warren where we
lived just before moving to Houston.
We called it Uncle Young's place It is located about 1 mile north of the Hardin
County Line on the west side of highway 69.
Griffins about 1944 Rear Byrd Griffin, Jeanita (Cure), Dixie (Sutton) (Edward's Wife married in Norman, Okla.), Gent, Sue with baby Billie Sue, Fnt Bobbie, Fred (with Navy Cap) and Jean. Ed was in the Navy and home on leave with his new wife to meet the family. We had fried chicken for dinner and I told Dixie not to eat the bones, those were for the dog. (The boy with the bat is probably Iverson Read.)
