| I WAS FIRED FOR FOLLOWING THE POLICY IN A ROBBERY Case description JAN. 31, 2004 AFTER YEARS OF EMPLOYEES ASKING TO PUT COUNTER AGAINST WALL LIKE ALL THE OTHER STORES AND TWO WEEKS OF ME ASKING THEM BECAUSE OF SECURITY ISSUES. A BLACK MAN SNATCH MY MONEY AS I WAS GETTING THE REST OUT OF SAFE. I STAYED CALM FOR THE LIVES OF THE OTHER PEOPLE ARE MY RESPONSABILITY I SAW SIX SUSPECTS I CALMLY PLAYED BACK VIDEO AND CALLED 911 KNOWING THE SUSPECTS BACKGROUND I WAS AFRAID HE HAD A GUN SO I DID NOTHING WHEN THE THEIVES HEARD ME SAY I WAS GETTING ROBBED THEY SPLIT I GAVE LIC. PLATE # AND WAITED FOR POLICE. THE POLICY SAYS STAY CALM AND OBEY ANY DEMANDS THAT THE ROBBER WANTS SO NOONE GETS HURT AND TO NOT TO FIGHT FOR ANY PROPERTY OF SKINNY'S FOR IT WAS INSURED. SUPERVISOR SAID THAT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO STRUGGLE FOR CONTROL OVER MONEY THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO LET ME GO. POLICE GAVE STATMENT TO NEWS WHICH WAS AIRED AND SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS MY FAULT, I WAS DENIED UNEMPLOYMENT AND NOONE WANTS TO HIRE ME WITH THAT ON MY APPLICATION. SKINNY'S STATES THAT I DID MY JOB SATIFACTORY FOR MANY DAYS AND I WAS LET GO BECAUSE OF UNSATISFACTOR LABOR THIS IS A CORPORATION THEY ARE SMART THEY SAY I DON'T HAVE A CHANCE WITH THEIR 7 CORPRATE LAWYERS MY CHILD SUPPORT THAT I WAS PAYING ON TIME IS NOW TWO OR THREE MONTHS BEHIND I CAN'T SUPPORT THE SON I HAVE WITH ME MUCH LESS THE ONE ON THE WAY I LIVE OFF OF FOODSTAMPS AND THE NEWS STATION GAVE ME A BAD REP. | I support your objectives. Lack of economic resources is not the only limitation to procuring effective counsel. The attorneys that get appointed by the court often seem like they graduated from the Montey Hall School of Law--let's make a deal---instead of defending the rights of citizens. People who are politically incorrect often find themselves in court for disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace or trespassing, a a result of exercising their rights of free speech and free assembly!!!! I am quite pleased to have discovered your website on the internet. I discovered it while searching for and attorney to represent me---I have discovered that the local attorneys do not want to represent me or are too busy with other clients---I have looked farther afield only to discover that I live too far away from their office for them to represent me. The court did appoint me an attorney and he meets with me about once a month---but he really does not seem very interested in the issues. I think I might do better representing myself---I have learned how to use the local law library at the courthouse, and have found some interesting and useful infromation. You might want to take a look at the Massachusett Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers website http://www.macdl.com The Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense is protesting what they feel is inadequate payment for representing clients that have been assigned to them for representation by the court!!!!!
