Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ, below is an excerpt from a Christian unity prayer. Please give it prayerful consideration and, if the Spirit leads, please pray this yourself and let us agree together in it, in prayer before the Lord.
CHRISTIAN UNITY PRAYER, PART 10 OF 25: “We Unite Without Fear, in the Light That Shows the Truth of Our Deeds to the World”
We unite in the love of our friend, Jesus, in His love for all His friends in His name, and call all men our friends and brethren who do righteousness and confess Him. With them, we gather together in the pursuit of the understanding of the Bible because Jesus said, “But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God” (John 3:21). With nothing to hide, we come together to the light of Jesus so that all men can see the truth in righteousness and love by the things we do. We join together without fear that we might lose what little power we could have apart from each other, for what power does a hand have, while the body lies broken and in pieces? Or where can the feet run to until the whole body first pulls itself together by the Holy Spirit in every member and stands upright, lifting up the head, to walk by the vision of Jesus, who is the head of us all?
We unite knowing that no man can use our unity against us, Lord, for when the lying prophets of old sought to make your people forget your name, you spoke by the true prophet and said “Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him?…” (Jeremiah 23:24), and again “…Do not I fill heaven and earth?” (Jeremiah 23:24), and you said “Is not my word like as a fire?…” (Jeremiah 23:29), and again “…like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?” (Jeremiah 23:29). We know, God, that vengeance is yours to destroy lying prophets and we choose to hold instead to the rock that will never be broken. We are united in our belief on the power of Jesus, and on the full power of the Holy Spirit to defend Himself and the word.
Though our brother may differ with us in some understanding of the word, Father, if he will confess that Jesus is in his heart, we won’t deny him and we won’t question his motives, for we know that your Holy Spirit is not ours to give, and you wont let anyone tell lies against it; you will not let it be blasphemed either by us or by someone else’s children. We look for the certain destruction in this life of all liars against the Holy Spirit and we know this is the sin which is punished both now and later, for Jesus said, “…whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come” (Matthew 12:32).

Love in Jesus to All!
We cordially invite any interested Christian to read and pray the rest of this prayer, or just to come and talk with Christians of all backgrounds, on a Christian unity email discussion mailing list. We’d love to hear from you about any Christian topic at all, and especially to discuss any topic related to unity of all Christians, of all Christian denominations and groups. (Btw, non-Christian visitors are welcome too!) You can find info on the email discussion mailing list, which is called the “Christian Unity Conference” (CUC), or info about a combined effort on a larger prayer for Christian unity, part of which is shown above, called the “Christian Unity Prayer Project” (CUPP), by going to the following URL:
