Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ, below is an excerpt from a Christian unity prayer. Please give it prayerful consideration and, if the Spirit leads, please pray this yourself and let us agree together in it, in prayer before the Lord.
CHRISTIAN UNITY PRAYER, PART 15 OF 25: “We Accept All Christians, of All Christian Denominations and Groups, as Our Sisters and Brothers, Together as Children of the Promise, in Preparation for the Judgment of the House of God”
We know, Father, that judgment begins with us Christians, here in your household, for the Bible says, “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God… “(1 Peter 4:17). And because we know your love for all your children, we know that the whole proceedings on judgment day will center on how all men treated God's children, the brethren of Christ, even the least of us, and the Bible says, “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me” (Matthew 25:40). And if judgment begins at the house of God, we know what you will do, Father, about us Christians mistreating any of our siblings in your family, our fellowservants in your household, even those we consider the least Christians of all, for the Bible says, “But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 24:48-51).
