Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ, below is an excerpt from a Christian unity prayer. Please give it prayerful consideration and, if the Spirit leads, please pray this yourself and let us agree together in it, in prayer before the Lord.
CHRISTIAN UNITY PRAYER, PART 20 OF 25: “We Know With Confidence We Receive Any Miracle We Ask in the Name of Jesus, Because We Know in Our Hearts, Father, That We Keep Your Commandments, and Unite in God’s Love for All His Children, of Every Christian Denomination and Group”
We know, Father, that by working together to do your will, by striving to make ourselves one in Jesus’ name, in whose name is kept the whole of your love for all your children, we are now given all power over all spirits of evil who would seek to destroy us, and power to cast out all sicknesses from our bodies because Jesus did such works Himself, and He said, “Verily, verily I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it” (John 14:12-14). Jesus is gone to be with you, Father, abiding in your love for all your children, in heaven and also in our hearts, and we know that your Holy Spirit now works as an unseen wind, moving invisibly through us to work any miracle we ask in your name, and making your miracles through us appear to be even greater works than when you did them in person, for you said “The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit” (John 3:8).
We are all born of your Spirit, Jesus, and we know with confidence that you now work through us any miracles we pray for, because we now do your will to make ourselves one in our hearts by our love for all our brethren, for the Bible says “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us” (1 John 5:14) and again, “Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. ¶ And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us” (1 John 3:21-24).
We have confidence toward you, Father, because our hearts do not condemn us, knowing that we keep your commandments; including your commandment that we should believe on the name of your Son Jesus Christ, whose name is the name of your love for all your children; and also including your commandment that we love one another, all our sisters and brothers, in all Christian denominations and groups. As Christians who have already repented of other sins in the name of Jesus, and now keeping these commandments as well, we dwell in you, Lord, and you dwell in us, which we know by the indwelling Spirit, Himself.

Love in Jesus to All!
We cordially invite any interested Christian to read and pray the rest of this prayer, or just to come and talk with Christians of all backgrounds, on a Christian unity email discussion mailing list. We’d love to hear from you about any Christian topic at all, and especially to discuss any topic related to unity of all Christians, of all Christian denominations and groups. (Btw, non-Christian visitors are welcome too!) You can find info on the email discussion mailing list, which is called the “Christian Unity Conference” (CUC), or info about a combined effort on a larger prayer for Christian unity, part of which is shown above, called the “Christian Unity Prayer Project” (CUPP), by going to the following URL:
