| I like your website-I was in Spain, while in the Marines('76-80). I've been to Palma-Mallorca, Rota & the small island of Cartegena(Cartehena) near Spain. I saw a werewolf film in a cinema during our Med. Cruise(that was in Naples, Italy) which I believe was "Fury of The Wolfman" w/the great Spanish star-Paul Naschy(we met at The "Classic Film-Fest" last July). I make ultra-low Z-budget MONSTER movies, & I'll be a "ghast"/"Featured Creature" at MONSTER BASH-2001, also-see you there! Another thing, like Naschy(who influenced me alot-"Rondo" Adams can vouge for this), I play a "werewolf" in alot of my movies(shot on video)-incl. "Conrad Brooks Vs. Werewolf"-one of the worst/best-of-worst movies of all-time!!!-Just ask Buddy "Cult Movies" mag. Barnett, who reviewed it in his issue#10(in'94)! Anyway, I still feel I must make these type of movies-w/my vision!-No one EVER made a hit their 1st,2nd,3rd time!-It takes effort after effort, error after error(we usually learn MORE from our mistakes-but we learn from success,-too!)-without giving-up because someone doesn't like the work or gives it a "Terrible" review(& I've had plenty!!!). That's why I keep doing the Monster movies(I've lost girlfiends over my love of Monsters, & my family & neighbors have even thought me as "Strange"/"Wierd"-but "so-what"!!!-I was one of 5 finalists on the Inter-Nationally syndicated TV-show, "STRANGE UNIVERSE" on Nov. 21, 1997!-I should have won, but they picked a "local"-boy,-& it was "rigged"!-Just ask the people that saw it & wrote me back to tell me I should have been picked.-But, it's O.K.-"FREE" Inter-National exposure!-Just to be on is to win!)-I believe in never-quitting/non-stop(but DO take breaks/vacations-I DON'T Always like to make movies-watching them is more FUN & relaxing)- & besides, it's paid-off! My "Devil Ant" & "Mummy, A.D.-1993" are well-liked & "Entertaining"/"Funny", too! And, of course The "Monster Bash" is the ONLY Con. with the "guts" to invite me(actually Ron Adams), yet Carl Thompson("www.FRIGHTVISION.com") has now invited me, too.-He's a nice guy & "fiends" w/Rondo._So "WHY" did I tewll you ALL this??!!?-I don't know,-just because I saw an opportunity to write when I saw you had also been to Spain, & a guest at "MONSTER BASH-2001"! Plus, I just got "on-a-roll" after I started!-Even Ron Adams, & Scary Monster's Dennis D. as well as the grave-keeper's of my website(www.PSYCHOTRONIC.com, click "It's Only A Movie" then click "David 'The Rock' Nelson's Basement of y Horror") all know that I can talk someone's ears off if I corner them!-Sort-of like in boxing,-cornering a guy in the ring, like "Smokin'-Joe" Frazier did!-I met him again, 3 weeks ago,-w/my "Devil Ant"(have "Devil Ant",Will Travel"!?-Ha-ha!), but his son, Marvis(who fought Larry Holmes, Tyson & beat James "BONE-CRUSHER" Smith via decision in '90's) ASKED ME TO TURN OFF THE CAMERA, so I didn't get Joe or Marvis in my movies-a dream I set in '95 or '96-I wanted to be a werewolf & face Joe Frazier- & he would knock-me-out,-in the ring,-at his gym in N. Phila., PA.-But "atleast" I took the "Chance" of him saying "Yes" or "No"!-All he has to say is "no" & I won't do it-so I won't(I Can't).-That's O>K>- as w/alot of celebrities, one can't get anyone they want in a movie-unless they have money or it's something the person agrees to do. I feel good just for "TRYING"!-I KNOW I try-win or lose, I KNOW I gave the "effort"!-I used to box(27 amateur bouts-lost most,-but WON some-& atleast I "TRIED" & had the courage to even step in the ring w/some of these guys!-Yes,-it IS "Scary",-but people need a challenge, & one can never know if he/she CAN WIN or lose unless they take a chance & TRY,-& see what they CAN do.-I also believe in getting BACK UP after a "fall"(or "TEMPORARY" defeat-Thomas Edison & Alexander Graham Bell NEVER stopped Until they achieved their dreams-and they SUCCEEDED!!!)-"for a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again".-Actually, though that doesn't just mean "seven"- but never quitting-no matter how many falls one takes.-Of course, I stopped boxing-not because I lost 20 bouts(hey!-Look on the "bright" side!-I WON 5 bouts!-And, several were against men much bigger than I!-One was 15-20 lbs. heavier-at 185 or 190 to my 170, on Dec. 22, 1988.-Another bout I "tied"/"drew" w/a runner-up in the Golden Gloves-& future ILLINOIS STATE LT.-HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMP(175 lbs.)-James Flowers(who's now a full-grown PROFFESSIONAL HEAVYWEIGHT, & had a bout recently)!-Yes, I tied him & he was 15 lbs. heavier than I(he-6'1",175 lb. -to MY 5'4",160, though I grew an inch during last 4 yrs.-Also,-I was much "older" than these guys!-I was 32 when I beat the "Big" guy,-John Volc-who was 25 yrs. young, & I was 31 against my 1st of 2 bouts w/Flowers, who was in his 20's.-I fought him again in '89 Chicago Golden Gloves, after bulking-up to 173!-However, I had just gotten over "Walking Pneumonia" 10-days before the fight, & it weakened me & caused me to lose some weight & muscle, & Flowers stopped me in 2. But, again, I was congratulated "just" for having the courage to get in the ring w/him!-James Flowers only lost to McGroom-who went on to Olympic GOLD in Lt-Heavy Div. in '92. Both are pro Heavyweights now.-So, I've been in w/some of the best, sparred w/pros like Jeff Lanas-who really beat Roberto DURAN, but was "ROBBED" of an "OBVIOUS" Decision!-I gave Duran 1 or 2 rds. to Lanas(a sparring partner)'8 rds.! I can't box due to age limit in amateur boxing now(I'll be 44 on Nov. 27-born in '56,-the yr. BELA Lugosi died), plus I choose to use my other, creative drives/talents-like my to create/make Monster movies & entertain people & make them "laugh"!-Plus, I DON'T get hit-that's nice,-& I can have FUN-& DON'T have to train soooo much!-I walk alot . Well again, I just felt like telling YOU this!-Aren't YOU lucky?!?-"HA-HA"!!!-Your "FIEND",-David "The Rock" Nelson | |||

| Great website - brought back lotsa good memories. Noticed many had wondered of whereabouts of Ed Muscare. In October 1986, I was in the Navy in San Diego when a local news item was aired on TV. To make a long story short - Uncle Ed was arrested for the molestation of several young boys as well providing them with drugs and alcohol. Story referred to him as "local cult tv star". Story also had video of the actual arrest and it was indeed our Ed. As cops were bringing him out of the house (a rundown little shack in bad part of town), the handcuffed Ed came right up to the camera, bared his teeth and let loose with a loud growl, then laughed to beat all hell. Always the showman that guy. It so happened that a fellow shipmate from KC area was there with me at the time to verify that it was the Ed Muscare I remembered from my youth. Haven't heard a word since the initial report of arrest as I was dis- charged two weeks later. Any news of the trial or his whereabouts? | |||

| Enjoyed the site! I recall Gregory Grave very well. This show was very popular with the neighborhood kids, and I still smile with the memories of watching it. You maqy or may not recall his sidekick "Cranston" the talking skull. Cranston sat nearby on Gregory's desk and replied or shrieked, etc. to Gregory's prompts. Also, there was the character in the desk drawer, that seemed to be the projectionist and operator of the "workings" concerning the movie. I do not recall the name, but, it was the "monster hand" in your parade photo and it wasn't let-on that gregory was operating it, although, one could tell he was and Gregory seemed to indicate to the audience that we were all in on it. Great fun and I sure miss those times. Thanks for the great memories and good luck! Pleasant Screams! Ken Standish | |||

| From the Author of 48: I would like to apologize to the forum owner and to any forum users who were offended by my post. I was so excited about the possibility of reviving some of The Creature Feature that I committed a breach of good manners. I misunderstood the forum to be an information exchange between Horror Host fans. I regret this misunderstanding and offer my most sincere apologies for having offended anyone. I would also like to say that this website has done an excellent job of cataloging and paying tribute to a bygone era of television Americana that I hold near and dear. Although I am still searching for "the lost Creature Feature tapes", in the end this website may well be the last place that many of these cherished memories continue to have life. I pains me to have offended someone who is doing such good work. I hope readers of this forum can foregive my ignorance. - Garrett Lahey Lee's Summit, Missouri | |||
