Anita, I did find Uncle Harvel's middle name misspelled. It should be Edward. At least I've always heard that his middle name was Edward. You have done a wonderful job on this website. Thank you for the hard work.

Enjoyed your Thomas McClure Rice story very much. I too had ancestors who fought with Sam Houston. I am now trying to locate David McClure possibly b. 1733 in Mass. who may be related to your Thomas. some of the McClure family left Mass. & moved to Ohio including Orren McClure. My David McClure was operating a business in Louisiana by 1815. Do you have any info that may help me? Thanks much. Grace

Anita,
I had a grandfather John Cummings and an Uncle John Dancer that were killed in the Dawson Massacre. You did a wonderful job on this website! Congratulations on your election to the 2007/2009 BOM. I look forward to working with you on my Descendants Marker in the coming years!

Anita, thank you for your hard work. It has been a long time. I was your auctioneer at one of the Thomas Mcclure Rice reunions way back, outside of Cuero.

I am from the John Thomas McClure family of Wharton County Lakeview Community north of ElCampo. Just visited Sam Houston Memorial Museum Huntsville and was reading about Sam Houston descendants when I found name of Thomas McClure Rice, hero of Texas independence.
