The past: So the new year is off and running. We had our annual visit to the Texas Rock Gym. I am always amazed at how easily some people can climb those walls. Our District Executive Tang Nguyen spent the night with us and was very impressed with you guys. The 21^st was pancake Sunday, thanks to all who showed up and helped with the cooking and serving.

The present: The troop should be gearing up for troop elections soon. These are the scouts who will run our troop for the next six months; think carefully about who you vote for it is your troop. We also have to complete our re-charter for the year 2007. If your dues are current you owe no money at this time; if you have back dues still owed you must pay them off to be able to continue with the troop. February 10^th is the Ten Commandment Hike in Sugarland the cost is $8.00 and you will need to bring a lunch. In conjunction with the Disabilities Awareness merit badge Mr. Rodgers is arranging a trip to the Shrine Hospital for us. For summer camp we are looking into going to Bear Creek Ranch near San Antonio.

The future: March will be a busy month. On the 3^rd there will be a merit badge fair hosted by Tatanka District. Any adults interested in teaching a merit badge or assisting with one contact the scoutmaster. We will sell Scout Fair tickets to help each of you earn money to pay for your scouting trips. The 16^th, 17th, and 18^th we will go to Hondo Texas and work on the Aviation merit badge, look for the sign-up sheet. Parents the troop will need some help for this trip if you are available to go camping that weekend let us know. The 23^rd, 24th, and 25^th is the District camporee at Camp Strake.

For some of you yes, for others no. Several scouts are in great danger of running out of time for Boy Scouts and not completing the course. We the adult leaders are here to help you the Boy Scout. 2 out of 100 boys in scouting earn Eagle Scout. Do not be one of the 98.
