JUNE 2005 NEWSLETTER

THE PAST: Did you celebrate Mother’s Day? Were you at the order of the Arrow Ordeal weekend? Maybe you served donuts or cooked pancakes here at Notre Dame? What about the Food Drive—were you there? Surely you did not miss our yearly trip to Schlitterbahn? Did you miss the month of May?

THE PRESENT: summertime…what a glorious time of year. Why? Summer camp of course! A week of living outdoors, with the moon and sun, the wind and stars. What great time to be a young man. This year we will attend camp at Ironwill Mesa from June 26 to July 2. The cost is $187.00 and we still have openings.

THE FUTURE: July will bring a new Troop adventure. GOLD! Lost and found, buried and stolen, mined and minted. Be there in July to find out more.

SCOUTMASTER MINUTE: June 19th is Father’s Day in this country. How do you celebrate this day? Does Dad get a card, a gift, and a long distance phone call? Do you do a few extra chores to ease the old load? Maybe you make a trip to a cemetery to spend some time near your Dad? Scouts, a Father’s greatest joy is seeing their sons grow into brave, honest men. On June 19th, bravely face the world and honesty tells your Father how much you love him.
