He Knew Me When

::He Knew Me When:: (Hear It!)
There's no one more unworthy than he who stands before you now,
I was told that Jesus loved me, but oh..I couldn't see how.
I was told that He sees everything and He knows what I'm about.
And if I showed my face on Sunday I was sure they'd run me out.
They said the road was narrow, so I chose the other way,
They said the cost of sin was high and I knew I couldn't pay.
They kept sayin' that Jesus wanted me, but I wouldn't let Him in.
'Cause I knew if I stood before Him..He'd say, "I knew you when!"

He knew me when..I was up to no good and in over my head.
He knew me when..I was good for nothin' and my life was in the red.
He knew me when..I was such a sinner that I'd never ever measure up.
He knew me when, and He'll know me then, and I'm afraid He knows too much!

I know that day's a comin' and I know how it will end.
We'll all get to heaven, but we won't all get in.
I'll step up to a Holy God, and stand there before Him.
Then He'll fix his eyes upon me and He'll say, "I knew you when!"

He knew me when..I was up to no good and in over my head.
He knew me when..I was good for nothin' and I'd been better off dead.
He knew me when..I was headed nowhere just as fast as I could go.
But He's the God of second chances, and there's one more thing I know.
He knew me when..I bowed before Him, and said, "Father I've sinned."
He knew me when..I begged forgiveness, and asked Him to come in.
He knew me when..I said, "Thank You, for savin' me! Amen!"
And when we finally meet in Glory. He'll know me then!!

He knew me when..I bowed before Him, and said, "Father I've sinned."
He knew me when..I begged forgiveness, and asked Him to come in.
He knew me when..I said, "Thank You, for savin' me! Amen!"
And when we finally meet in Glory. Praise God, He'll know me then!
Praise God, He'll know me then! He'll know me then!!

::Die Or Fly:: (Hear It!)
My weariness is showin' as I journey through this life,
I know where I'm a goin', I just don't know how I'll arrive,
I'm takin' an undeserved vacation and I can't afford the price,
Gotta heavenly destination, I just don't know if I'll die or fly.

If I die, He'll be waitin' for me,
If I fly, He'll come down from glory,
I'm gonna journey up to Jesus in the twinklin' of His eye.
My travel plans are made, the Great Pilot's standin' by.
I've got a room reserved in Glory, I just don't know if I'll die or fly.

I may have to stay over if my earthly engines stall,
But it's just a slight layover 'til they announce that final call.
Got a room with an ocean view, my name's written in the travel log of Life,
I just hope your name's there too before it's time to die or fly.

If you die, then you'll be reborn,
But we'll all fly if they sound that horn,
Jesus has your ticket. Please don't miss the flight!
I don't know my transport-tation, I don't know the day or time,
But I'll transcend this earthly plane, I just don't know if I'll die or fly.

My seatback's not upright! My baggage will be lost in flight!
But I'm ready to leave tonight, I don't care if I die or fly!
When I leave for the by & by, there won't be time to say bye bye..bye bye..bye bye..
(Attention passengers..I Am Airways is now boarding at Golden Gate 4)
Hallelujah, that's my flight, but I don't care if I die or fly!
Yes, I'm ready to leave tonight, I don't care if I die or fly!

::JESUS (Claim The Name)::
Each day is filled with silent moments; it's always nice to pause.
And I guess one more won't hurt; but you're just restin' your jaws.
That old cliche' may get the world's applause, but..
Unless you're talkin' to Jesus, it's a delay without a cause.
(Let me hear you pray!) Jesus. Jesus. Jesus.
(Why won't you say it?) Jesus. Jesus. Jesus.
(You gotta claim the Name.) Jesus. Jesus.

And you say you're thoughts are goin' with me.
At least I know somebody cares.
But it's not the thought that counts. You see I really want your prayers.
Don't tell me about the ''big guy', or the 'man that lives upstairs',
You could be callin' on Jesus, no other name on earth compares.
(Let me hear you pray!) Jesus. Jesus. Jesus.
(Why won't you say it?) Jesus. Jesus. Jesus.
(You gotta claim the Name.) Jesus. Jesus.
The name above all names. The only name on earth.
No other name. No other name.
The name above all names. The only name on earth.
No other name. No other name.

And you say your life's been blessed. (I hear it every time you sneeze)
And you always mention 'Hell!', still, you do as you please.
You keep saying 'Thank God' ('Thank God'), but you're nowhere near your knees.
You're talkin' 'bout a higher power, but your gods have little g's!
(Mine has a big 'J') Jesus. Jesus. Jesus.
(And a big I-A-M) Jesus. Jesus. Jesus.
(Claim the Name!) Jesus. Jesus. (Yahweh!)

(Why won't you pray?) Jesus. Jesus. Jesus.
(Why won't you say it?) Jesus. Jesus. Jesus.
(You gotta claim the Name.) Jesus. Jesus.
The name above all names. The only name on earth.
No other name. No other name.
The name above all names. The only name on earth.
No other name.
No other name.

::DONT TOSS THE HYMN BOOK:: (Hear It!)
Parody of "Don't Rock The Jukebox" (Alan Jackson, Roger Morrah, Keith Stegall)
New Lyrics by Randy Whittern

Don't toss the hymn book! Hear me, what I say!
My heart ain't ready, to put those old songs away.
I don't feel like standin', all service long.
Don't toss the hymn book! Play me an old-fashioned song.

Before you start that chorus, keep one thing in mind.
You've got a book full of music, that's stood the test of time.

I love to sing how the blood of Jesus1, saved 'such a worm as I'.2
I love to sing about my transport,3 to that 'Sweet By
And By'.4 So don't toss the hymn book, for the music of today.
My heart ain't ready, to put ole Fanny away.
I don't feel like standin' and clappin', all service long.
Don't toss the hymn book! Sing me an old-fashioned song.

In the sweet by and by, we shall meet on that beautiful shore.
In the sweet by and by, we shall meet on that beautiful shore.

Now I ain't got nothin', against the songs they play.
I just kinda like my words up close, not so far away.
Those old hymns were penned by God, each and every word.
The first, second, and the last verse. (We're not sure about the third!)

But don't toss the hymn book! I want to hear Lewis Jones!
My heart ain't ready, for B.B. to be gone.
I don't feel like rockin', don't turn those amplifiers on.
Let's gather round the piano. (We'll send the conga player home!)
Dust off the hymn book! Sing me a camp meetin' song.

Amen!

::I'M FOR REAL::
I know you're confused, you're thinkin' you've been used, and that's what you're afraid of.
But if you could see, inside My heart, you'd see what it's made of.
It doesn't just pump blood, not anymore, you've got to believe it.
It's pushin' so much love, but what's it for, if you won't receive it?
I'm askin' you to trust Me. Believe what you feel.
Thomas, I'm for real.

Take your fingertips, feel the holes in My wrists, where they drove the nails that hung Me.
See the marks on My brow, where they placed a thorny crown, imagine how it stung Me.
Place your hand in My side, where they made sure I'd died, as I lay there unbroken.
Like a thief, crucified; innocent, yet despised; to fulfill what had been spoken.
Go ahead and touch Me. Believe what you feel.
Thomas, I'm for real.
Why won't you trust Me.
Don't deny what you feel. Thomas, I'm for real.
Thomas, I'm for real.
I'm for real.

::CREAM OF THE CROP::
We were planted in the prairie in 1889.
Seeds of Oklahomans, as thousands stood in line.
Then we were sifted in the dust bowl, when the wheat fields became unkind.
Many were uprooted, but the strong who stayed behind, said,

"You can slow us down, but you can't make us stop.
Beneath this old red clay we're rooted to the rock.
And when you shake us around we rise to the top.
'Cause Oklahoman's are the Cream Of The Crop!"

Some got into cattle, some stayed with the soil.
Some went off to battle, and some discovered oil.
We weathered every wind storm, stood together when it poured.
Lived up to our state motto. Looked up to our great Lord.

You can slow us down, but you can't make us stop.
Beneath this old red clay we're rooted to the rock.
And when you shake us around we rise to the top.
Oklahoman's are the Cream Of The Crop!

On a quiet April mornin' we exploded from within.
Man's unbridled hatred tried to do us in.
With the nations eyes upon us, to see what we would do.
The country soon discovered, what Oklahoman's knew.

You can slow us down, but you can't make us stop.
Beneath this old red clay we're rooted to the rock.
And when you shake us around we rise to the top.
Oklahoman's are the Cream Of The Crop!
Oklahoman's are the Cream Of The Crop!
When you shake us around we rise to the top!
'Cause we're Americans! And we're the Cream Of The Crop!

::DADDY'S LULLABY::
Say your prayers, it's gettin' late.
Pull the covers tight. Have sweet dreams!
It seems a little stormy tonight.
Shadows dance upon the wall.
The wind brings them to life.
The lightning glows, and the thunders rolls as the rain arrives.
You wake up, as the wind starts howlin' through the trees.
Covers fly, and I hear you cry for your mom and me,
To dry those frightened eyes, with Daddy's Lullaby.

Jesus watches o'er His children,
Says He needs them for His kingdom,
Knows their name before their birth,
His angels care for them while they're on earth.
(Jesus watches o'er His children here on earth.)

Rest your head, don't worry now.
Try and close your eyes. Be real still,
And I will sing that little song you like.
God is watchin' over you, Momma's standin' by.
Daddy's near, and you know we'll be here all night.
When you wake, the sunlight's shinin' through the trees.
Last thing you remember are the tender melodies,
And oh, those heavy eyes. And Daddy's Lullaby.

Jesus watches o'er His children,
Says He needs them for His kingdom,
Knows their name before their birth,
His angels care for them while they're on earth.
Yes, I'm one of His children,
Says He needs me for His kingdom,
Knew my name before my birth,
His angels care for me while I'm on earth.

::THE RING::
I guess I'm by myself again.
I've been sittin' here for hours and it won't sink in.
It's just hard to understand.
We run out and sign some papers, and it's supposed to end.
But the papers' just for show.
And I knew what it would take to make me finally let you go.

I took off the ring. Gave up the ghost.
It was the final thing. And it hurt the most.
And now it sits and gathers dust. And circles the emptiness.
'Cause that's all that's left of us.

I feel surrounded by this house.
It's so empty, void of meaning, like our wedding vows.
When we stood in front of all our friends.
After weeks of preparations, tying up loose ends.
All leading up to that one kiss.
I'm so glad that no one's watching now, to see it end like this.

I took off the ring. Gave up the ghost.
It was the final thing. And it hurt the most.
And now it sits and gathers dust. And circles the emptiness.
'Cause that's all that's left of us.

What became of me and you.
Now you say you don't.
But that night you said, "I do."

You put on the ring. You gave the oath.
The symbol of everything. The eternal hope.
And now it sits and gathers dust. And circles the emptiness.
I took off the ring. Gave up the ghost.

It was the final thing. And it hurt the most.
And now it sits and gathers dust. And circles the emptiness.
'Cause that's all that's left of us.
